{Why are you|The reason for} Running If There

I arrived home from a trip recently and observed the same scenario I see {every time|each time|as well as a|training session|training} I travel. {When i|Once i|After i|While i|As i} get off an airplane, I {step on the|strike the} moving sidewalk and rest my carry-on bag on the moving railing, stepping to the right, just as the instructions say: 'stand' on the right, and 'walk' {on the|by the|near the|to the|during the} left.

I'm the {only one|just one|only 1|only one|one} standing. Everyone else is running.

As I stand there, passenger after passenger rushes by me, dragging luggage, brushing against me, bumping into {me|my eyes|our family||anyone}. Many of them glare at me; {some even|whereby traders|in which|incidents where} make a remark to their companion (not to me, of course - that would be rude).

Now some {of these|of the above|of the following|of|people} people may be rushing to catch a connecting flight at another {gate|gates|checkpoint|gateway|entrance}. But a surprising number of them {are at|close to|are in|are near|reach} the baggage carousel when I {arrive|can come|come to|are|be seen}.

On this last trip, I found them all there, looking anxiously {up the|down the|inside|along the|on the} chute to {see if|the firm is accredited|the provider|examine if|check} the bags were coming. As I strolled up, the carousel started and my bag came off first.

I picked it up, and {I was|I became|Acquired|I came to be|I found myself} mean enough to smile and wave to the others as I {left|rendered|exited|kept|positioned}.

Why were {these people|with so many|people|while|consume} racing when {we all know|you know|everybody knows|everyone knows} that it {takes time|needs time|needs time to work|will take time} to unload {baggage|luggage|travel luggage|bags|gear}? There is no prize for getting there early. Yet they continue to {do it|practice|try it|perform it|go for it} - automatically.

When you are racing to get someplace, are you clear if {there is a|you will find a|it is undoubtedly a|luckily|the good news is} prize and {what the|exactly what the} prize might {be|always be|turn into|sometimes be|are}? Where is it coming from?

Or is there some punishment you fear? From {whom|just who|that|with whom|so, who}? And how important is it? Is {it really|the operation is|it does not|after you|it truly} disapproval or {something more|some thing} severe? And {if the|if ever the|if for example the|in the event the|when the} situation is {out of your|using your|in your|from your own|on the} hands, as {it is|could|around the globe|this is|this} with the issue of getting luggage unloaded, why should punish yourself? Because that is {what you are doing|your work|what you're doing} when you undergo unnecessary anxiety.

Even if you miss a connecting flight, there {will be|get|seem|is|are going to} another one. {Is it|Does it look|Do you|Which can be|Should it be} worth stressing {your body|the actual body|one's body|yourself|your own} over?

In many cases, you have no control over the situation: the carousel will start {when the|once the|as soon as the} baggage has been unloaded, traffic will resume when the traffic jam clears, the line {to the|towards the|towards|for the|into the} cashier will move only as fast as it {can|would be able to|can now|could certainly|has the potential to}.

And there's nothing you can {do|get|will|perform|have}.

Oh, wait, {there is|is actually no|there isn't any|there|actual} - just {breathe|inhale and|carefully|breathe in the air|sleep}. Become a curious observer of your surroundings - buildings, trees, people, too. {Who knows|Understands} what you {will find|uncover|will see|rapidly realize|understand} when you {are conscious of|recognize|know|are aware of|be aware of} where you are when your {body is|is actually|is} actually there.

And then {you can|you will|you're able to|can certainly|you'll be able to} collect the only true prize: inner peace.
