In March 2012 i was 17 in all who headed to the Calangute Beach, Goa. It the bright clear day and water sports were under way. It was not difficult to be able to person who would arrange it for us. As we were a big bunch i was offered a discount as well, Rupees 500 per head for the Bumpy Ride, Banana Boat Ride, Scooter Ride and Wine-tastings.
Tip 1: If you're just walking in for water sports at Goa, the prices are up for bargain. The bigger the group the greater the bargaining power.
All of us were carrying cameras, cell phones, sun glasses and wallets that is everything that doesn't mix well with water. We were lucky that two amongst us didn't want to perform the water sports and they agreed to guard our stuff while sitting in the shack and generally chilling out. There are lockers but they didn't inspire much confidence and anyway had too much stuff with us.
Tip 2: Think prior to come to the beach that how are you going to manage the precious while you wish to indulge in water sports.
Valuables out of the way, it was time for splash and get damp! I did the scooter rise first because I have done it before it was fine with me. Then it was time for the Banana 'Boat' ride where at least 6-7 of us were together. We climbed the particular boat and then hold on tight for our dear lives while it was propelled to the sea tilting this way and by which! Usually they ask if you want to obtain flipped in water and all of us wanted to. However the trouble was once a person flipped it is difficult to get back on the boat and balance again. So instead of the customary 2 flips we got flipped at least 4 times.
Tip 3: Be for you to drink some sea water while doing water sporting goods.
I headed to the bumpy boat ride the next. I was sharing this with another girl and we were basically cooped up in small hollows, where as the whole apparatus resembled a lady bug insect and we being once again propelled with some speed towards the sea. It was enjoyment! When we came back to the shore, people were jostling with machines. We got down carefully, and managed for you to topple anyone else.
Tip 4: If in order to just on the beach, be careful of scooters and other such water sport equipment, there isn't a clear demarcation between the gap for sports and beach goers and if there is it was ignored.
Then at the end came parasailing. By now two of our members decided they had enough. But we had already paid, so we offered that two persons would do parasailing twice and that would make amends for people dropping out. The people who were handling our activity till now were handing us over to another operator for parasailing therefore guessed correctly that would likely not convey our special arrangement.
All of us did parasailing and every one of us wanted to take a dip in water which was 300 rupees extra. Appealing in itself was nice but when it came to extra rides that we were treated to already paid for they refused. We a bargaining tool and we refused pay out for the extra 300 for the group. But this completely spoiled the mood-altering. In the end a compromise was stuck, we paid something but no-one was in a mood for a nice ride anymore.
Tip 5: Be very careful with any special arrangements you make, they may not be honored.
I wish Experienced only good in order to say for appealing but this is how it was believe it or not.
If you occasion a trip to Goa this monsoons, stay with Club Mahindra at Varca beach resort where we pamper and indulge you right.
